چکیده
The design, integration, testing and launch of the first Finnish satellite Aalto-1 is briefly presented in this paper. Aalto-1, a three-unit CubeSat, launched into Sun-synchronous polar orbit at an altitude approximately 500 km, operational since June 2017. It carries three experimental payloads: Aalto Spectral Imager(AaSI), Radiation Monitor (RADMON) Electrostatic Plasma Brake (EPB). AaSI hyperspectral imager visible near-infrared (NIR) wavelength bands, RADMON energetic particle detector EPB de-orbiting technology demonstration payload. platform was designed to accommodate multiple payloads while ensuring sufficient data, power, radio, mechanical electrical interfaces. design strategy payload subsystems consists in-house development commercial subsystems. CubeSat Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) followed Flatsat-Engineering-Qualication Model (EQM)-Flight (FM) model philosophy for qualification acceptance. paper describes approach subsystems, their integration test campaigns spacecraft launch. also ground segment services that were developed by team.

A Cubesat Payload for Exoplanet Detection
The search for undiscovered planets outside the solar system is a scientific topic that is rapidly spreading into the astrophysical and engineering communities. In this framework, the design of an innovative payload to detect exoplanets from a nano-sized space platform, like a 3U cubesat, is presented. The selected detection method is photometric transit, and the payload aims to detect flux dec...
متن کاملBand-monitoring Payload for a CubeSat Satellite
During changing sun activity, the ionosphere is responding accordingly and therefore it is interesting to observe the propagation behavior of shortwave bands. For the above mentioned purpose we have designed a bandmonitoring payload for an experimental CubeSat satellite. The payload consists of a receiver, which is able to receive SSB modulated narrowband signals in 28 MHz uplink band, and a tr...
متن کاملPre-Launch Characterization of the WISE Payload
The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE), launched in December 2009, is a NASA-funded Explorer mission that is providing an all-sky survey in the mid-infrared with far greater sensitivity and resolution than any previous IR survey mission. The Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory designed, fabricated, and characterized the science payload, which is a cryogenically cooled infrar...
متن کاملPayload characterization for CubeSat demonstration of MEMS deformable mirrors
Coronagraphic space telescopes require wavefront control systems for high-contrast imaging applications such as exoplanet direct imaging. High-actuator-count MEMS deformable mirrors (DM) are a key element of these wavefront control systems yet have not been flown in space long enough to characterize their on-orbit performance. The MEMS Deformable Mirror CubeSat Testbed is a conceptual nanosatel...
متن کاملDecentralized Vibration Control in a Launch Vehicle Payload Fairing
* Member ASME ABSTRACT The vibro-acoustic environment inside a launch vehicle payload fairing is extremely violent resulting in excessive development costs for satellites and other payloads. The development of smart structures and active noise and vibration control technologies promised to revolutionize the design, construction and, most importantly, the acoustic environment within these fairin...
